Thanksgiving Blessing

Heavenly Father,

As we gather around this table on this Thanksgiving Day, our hearts overflow with gratitude for the blessings You have generously bestowed upon us. We come before You, acknowledging that it is only by Your goodness and enduring love that we have arrived at this moment.

Lord, we lift our voices in thanksgiving for the redemption You provide, not just individually but for our nation, our families, and future generations. May Your grace and mercy be upon us, guiding us as we navigate the paths set before us. Grant our leaders wisdom and humility, that they may lead with hearts attuned to Your will, seeking justice and righteousness.

Father, we pray for humility and grace to permeate our interactions with one another. May our words and actions reflect the love and compassion You shower upon us daily. As we partake in this meal, we ask for nourishment not only for our bodies but also for our minds and souls. Refresh us, Lord, with the living water of Your Spirit, that we may be strengthened to face the challenges ahead.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we remember those who are less fortunate and ask for Your compassion to envelop them. May this day be a reminder of the interconnectedness of our lives and the responsibility we have to care for one another.

Lord, as we feast, let our hearts be filled with joy and gratitude. May the bonds of family and friendship be strengthened, and may the love we share reflect the depth of Your love for us.

In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen.

Blessings Inspired by Psalm 107 (NIV)

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains, because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High. So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron. Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
